Students Inducted Into National Language Honor Societies

St. Paul's recognized the accomplishments of Upper School students in studying modern languages with their induction into National Language Honor Societies. "Every year the Modern Language Department gathers to honor students who have shown will, curiosity, motivation, determination and consistency in learning a second - or a third - language," said Silvia Stier, Modern Language Department Chair.

French

La Societe Honoraire de Francais accepts only those students who have completed level III of French and who have earned an A- in French during the current semester and have a cumulative average of A- in French for the three previous semesters. In addition, he must have a B- cumulative average in all other subjects during the current semester and the three previous semesters. The inductees are:

Induction into the Delta Epsilon Phi National Honor Society of German requires enrollment at least in German 2, and an "A" average for sophomores, an "A-" for juniors, and a "B+" for seniors. The inductees are:

In order to be inducted into the Chinese National Honor Society a student needs to have studied Chinese for 4 semesters in high school and earn honor's grades. Candidates also needed to write a research paper on a subject about China. The inductees are:

Induction into the Altamira chapter of the National Spanish Honors society requires the student to be at least a sophomore enrolled in Spanish 3 or higher, and an "A" average for sophomores, an "A-" for juniors, and a "B+" for seniors; moreover a student needs to have demonstrated a clear interest in and passion for Spanish.
